Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive! School is busy this semester, but I'm having a lot of fun with one of my clinicals. My other clinical is with a urologist, and I realized VERY quickly that I am just NOT made out to do prostate exams and pelvic exams all day. I mean, I'm just saying.
I think I'll stick with hearts.
I'm still making time to keep up with all of your blogs, even if I don't have time to post myself! It's kind of a time out I can take for myself. Oh, and Julie - I got your tag, and I'm working on it, but it'll probably be my next post.
For my fellow nurses - We have a bill up in the Texas legislature that will allow the Board of Nursing to provide APNs with their prescriptive authority, instead of having to have a collaborative agreement with a physician like we do now. There are 33 other states that already do this. It frees up a lot of practictioners for medically underserved populations and will help us provide access to care for these people. Everyone deserves great healthcare, so write to your state representative or state senator and tell them to vote FOR House Bill 1107. I spent the day yesterday with the Coalition for Nurses in Advanced Practice at the Capitol here in Austin to talk to our state reps and state senators about this.
Well, I should get back to studying. Hope all is well with everyone!

LOL on "NOT made out to do prostate exams and pelvic exams all day!" Ha Ha Ha!! It takes a unique person to do that! Keep it up my friend! We know you're working your butt off! Love the updates when you can! :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the prayers for Matt's Grandfather! I'll be sure to send any questions we might have your way!
ReplyDeleteI am positive that I wouldn't be able to handle those types of exams either! I don't blame you for sticking to what ya know. :)
