We've had a lot of fun tailgating for UT Football. I know, I know, most of you are like hello, Megan, you went to TECH! But the 20 minute drive to the UT Stadium is a lot quicker than the 5.5 hour drive to Jones Stadium! And, to be honest, I do have a Master's Degree from UT. So, we got season tickets this year and have had a good time tailgating and going to the games. I L-O-V-E College football, so it really doesn't matter which one of my teams I'm rooting for!
But don't worry, I will always remember where my roots are!
In the end of September, The Creswell fam came down for an appointment for R. We had a good weekend getting to hang out with our Besties! We laughed so hard teaching the kids how to play the Wii. H was really into it, but R just laughed and laughed when his guy got knocked off the pedestal!
We spent Thanksgiving at my sister's house in Round Rock. I brought my camera, but true to my form, I didn't really take any photos. My sister got a fancy new SLR camera, so Marc and I took some pictures for our Christmas cards. We got a good one and the cards are in the mail!
Now it's just decorating for Christmas! Our tree is up and Marc got the lights on the house today. Addie is still liking to lay in front of the fire with her hoof chew, just like last year! I've been thankful for these past few days - the cold has given us the opportunity for a fire.
As far as the job search, it's still crappy. It's now been 6 MONTHS since Graduation, and still no job. The lead I thought I had here in Austin was given to another nurse. The Nurse Practitioner I interviewed with sure didn't bother to tell me that she was precepting a CNS student when I was there. Now all of a sudden they've hired her on (the student) as an RN until she graduates, with the intention of promoting her into the CNS position I wanted! I don't understand why they are willing to wait for her to graduate, take boards, and ger her license approved, when I can work NOW. Oh well. I'm continuing to look all over Texas, and I have an interview in Waxahachie next Wednesday. This is a teeny tiny hospital, only 65 beds. And it's a part time position, so I need to figure out what the potential for full time is. We'll see how it goes! The really fun part?? I've now started to get the bills for my Grad School loans. And I don't have a jump in salary to help pay them.Fun times.
