On the Move

Well, we moved stuff to Waxahachie this weekend. Marc and I went up at the beginning of March to look at apartments. Funny thing - the only day we could both get off to go was a Sunday. Not a big deal right? Well, apparently most apartment complexes in Waxahachie are CLOSED on Sundays. Fun times. Luckily I had been looking at one in particular online that was actually open on Sundays. So we went to check it out, and ended up leasing there. Geez, I never thought I'd live in an apartment again!! Then, they didn't have any of the larger 1 bedrooms available, so we had to go with the smallest 1 bedroom they have. The bigger 2 bedroom would have been perfect, but we can't really afford rent on that mamba jamba along with our mortgage! Ah geez.

So anyway, we moved stuff this weekend. It will actually make the house easier to stage for showing with less furniture. I took the guest bed and nightstand, the chair and ottoman out of the living room, both of our bar stools, and one of the end tables. We had an extra TV (no more HD and DVR - how spoiled am I?), and I took half of our dishes/glasses/tupperware. Should be a good start.

Unknowingly, we picked the windiest weekend to move. I kept asking, we are not in Oklahoma, or West Texas, so where is this wind coming from?? I was having loving memories of life in Lubbock, expecting a dust storm any minute! Dad and Marc almost got blown away with the box spring for the bed, and I was running as fast as I can with 2 of my dresser drawers so nothing would blow away. It was really comical, you should have seen us! Unfortunately, I didn't get my camera out, so I'll post some pictures when I'm up there full time and have things a little more decorated.

So, I'm back in Austin this week - heading to Warrenton/Round Top on Thursday with my mom and sister for some antiquing, Easter this weekend, then up to Waxahachie full time!!

And for those of you still confused on how to pronounce Waxahachie:
