Tragedy

On Monday, one of my friends got the worst possible news. EVER. She got a dreaded call from the day care that there had been an accident involving her son. Needless to say, he passed away just a mere 8 days before his First Birthday.

I don't feel like it is my place to mention the details of what happened, but know that it was an accident and now one of the most loving, wholesome, faithful families is enduring the worst pain ever. I am still in a state of shock and I have no words for the sorrow I feel for them. It's one of those situations where you don't even know what to pray for. I find myself praying that God keeps his arms around the family and they find peace and are able to turn to each other and find strength in each other and in the Lord.

I feel bad that I am unable to attend the memorial, but at the same time, I'm not sure I would be able to be supportive, as I'm pretty sure I'd be a basket case. If you are a faithful person, please join me in praying for this family, and if not, please keep them in your thoughts tomorrow as they lay to rest their only son.

Heaven has a new angel this week, and I know that we will all one day be reunitied with this smiling, happy, playful baby boy.
