Ok, here's my 27 week picture - yes I know it was supposed to be a 26 week picture, but hey, things happen. Please pardon my hair:
Yep, Marc didn't bother to tell me my hair was all over the place. But, while we're on the subject, let's talk about my hair. Most women have hair and nails that grow like weeds when they're pregnant. All the books I've been reading talk about how your hair gets fuller, thicker, and just all-around wonderful while you're pregnant.
Not Me.
Yes, my nails have been growing quickly and I've definitely had to cut them more regularly, which is nice. They always look decent, and if one breaks it's no time before it's grown out again. But my hair. UGH. Most people probably know that my hair is naturally straight. As a board. I've always had a very slight wave kind of in the corners of my forehead at the hairline, but by the time the blow dryer hits it, it straightens out with the rest of my hair. Unless it's super humid, but who has good hair in high humidity anyway? But Pregnancy Hormones have done crazy things to my hair. It's growing slower, which is good for my legs, (I can go a week without shaving!) but trying to grow out my bangs before this baby comes and I'm throwing my hair in a ponytail at 3am for a feeding has been a challenge. I think we'll get there, but it has taken my whole pregnancy and my bangs still fall out of a ponytail. And this slight wave at my hairline? Yeah, it has become a full-on RINGLET. Totally curling up. Just in those 2 spots. The last time I went to get my hair highlighted, Ben said that my hair was curling up on the foil!! And it will NOT straighten out. I've started putting some product in my hair (I'm incredibly low maintenance, so it's blow dry with my fingers, flat iron, and go usually) before blow drying it, pulling it with a brush while drying, and then hitting it with the flat iron. And I still have a wave. Which, apparently, only gets worse as the day goes on, as you can see in the above picture - it was taken at night. And no, my hair has not gotten any thicker, fuller, or more manageable. It's my same ol' hair, a little dryer actually, and with a wicked curl. Makes me curious to see what will happen after the baby is born and my hormones go haywire again??
Well, thanks for listening to me vent. In other updates - 27 weeks marks the start of the Third Trimester! Wow, the home stretch already! I'm still feeling great! This little boy is moving around all the time, kicking, rolling, and keeping me awake at night. There's something very comforting about it though. When the baby first starts moving inside you, it feels weird, but now I expect it and I know he's ok as long as he is moving. I also never knew how I would feel about being pregnant - there was a period of time when I debated not having kids because I didn't think I would be a fit mother. But then I met Marc, grew up a little bit, and now I am absolutely over the moon excited. I can't wait to meet this little guy and see what he looks like!

You look awesome! Only a few months to go! My hair did something similar and then about 4 months after I had the baby (both times) ALL the hair around my hairline fell out and it took me forever to grow back in and looked soooo weird. Still trying to grow it out from having Graham 16 months ago! Hopefully that doesn't happen to you! You look gorgeous no matter what!
