Goin' Home

Well, Dawn's doctor just came by and said she can go home! We called John and he is on his way. Dawn is out of bed, in the chair to eat breakfast, and then we're going to go for a walk (I'm sure she loves having Nurse Ratchett for a roommate)!

She had a really good night, the night nurse let us sleep from about 12:15 until about 4:15 this morning. Then they checked her vitals and drew labs. I went back to sleep after that, and Dawn dozed on and off until about 6:30 when they took her catheter out and her packing. She got up about 8:30 and went to the bathroom - sucess after having the catheter out!! She has 2 lap sites, one in her belly button and one to the lower left, almost by her pubic bone. She has 2 tiny incisions kind of in her groin area (one on each side) from the bladder sling. The doctor said they took her uterus out and pulled the top of her vagina closed with her ligaments that used to hold her uterus in place. She has another incision on the front (top) side of her vagina (inside) for the bladder sling.

The doctor said everything went well and she expects her to have a good recovery! Now the fun part begins, going home and trying to limit activity so she doesn't overdo it!
